The handy air purifier with its sleek look is a challenging air purifier that offers excellent performance relative to the other mid-size purifiers. The air purifier is one of the best-featuring air purifiers in many reviews and this is because of its efficient purification and the elegant design that blends in every ambiance it graces.

Design of the Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto

The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto looks like the twin brother of the Pure 411 Auto variant. With a trippy, circular design on top. An evenly knit fabric covers the outer layer as the pre-filter on the lower portion of the device.

This fabric of the air purifier is available in a variety of hues, including grey, pink, blue, and green providing a hint of customization to suit your ambiance. The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto integrates into practically any home because of its overall solid, box-like shape. It features a beautiful plastic matte finish on the outside and is one of the better designs we’ve tested. The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto is 20 inches tall and 13×13 inches in length and breadth.

The bottom-to-top air purifier contains a 3-stage filtration mechanism. The portability of the air purifier is the best as the mid-size purifier can be picked and placed anywhere. With the ability to purify 550 square feet of room and doing so as a mid-size appliance, it’s one of the best purifiers we tested.

Control Panel

The switch-on button is always in the middle and can be operated by pressing it once. It will automatically go into auto mode. To activate Night mode, press twice (low fan speed). By pressing the button thrice the fan setting will go on to the second speed, followed by the boost mode in four presses. The slightly irritating feature was to press the button five times to switch off the air purifier.

The illumination around the button can showcase the air quality of your home with three levels which are good, moderated, and polluted with blue, orange, and red. The indicator turns red when a filter change is necessary.

Airflow and filtration stages

The Blueair Blue Pure 211 Plus is equipped with a three-stage filtering system. The washable, reusable fiber pre-filter traps big particles and helps the unit’s primary filter last longer. The fiber can also get a bit discolored over time with the pollutants and this gave the air purifier a bad outlook. Therefore continuous cleaning is needed with the fabric or pre-filter. When necessary, the pre-filter may be vacuumed and cleaned periodically. The option of the pre-filter or the fabric is optional as per the manual.

Activated carbon is used in the combination of Particle and Carbon Filters to remove smells from pets, cooking, or smoke from the air. Although it does not include a HEPA filter, the main particle filter eliminates up to 99 percent of dust, pet dander, pollen, mold, and other irritants from the air. The exclusion of the HEPA filter is not a wise choice when it comes to air purifiers but being a mid-size purifier and having the capability to clean a room of 550 square feet using a HEPA filter can be overlooked.

Performance and Filtration Process

Pure 211+ Auto is one of the high-performance air purifiers we have tested in AHC with a purification dimension of 450 square feet. The amount of power generated to purify a room of that size with the appliance being small can be demanding, but with the Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto, the cost is at a minimum. 

The dedicated testing for the Blueair Blue Pure 211 Auto went exceptionally well where the air purifier was able to purify the introduced particles at a solid rate of 94-97% within 1 hour at the boost fan speed, this almost reached the levels of Levoit Core 400S and matched some of the best air purifiers in the market. The air purifier was able to slightly reduce odors in our tests as some strong odors can still penetrate through the filter.

Without using a HEPA filter the ability to deliver purification with a fabric pre-filter and a polypropylene fibers filter and offering ease of use the air purifier can easily be on the list of best air purifiers.

Noise Levels

This air purifier was a ninja and at the same time a beast in terms of loudness. It was hardly recognizable at the lowest fan setting, but at the boost setting, it was one of the loudest air purifiers in the range, recording 34 decibels at the lowest and 62 decibels at the highest. The small unit was able to match some of the large unit noise levels.

Maintenance of Blueair Blue Pure 211

It is essential to keep the pre-filter clean at least once a week as the air purifier tends to get dusty with the outer fabric. The main filter unit is recommended to be changed after six months. The filter light shows when to initiate the replacement. The unit is easy to be cleaned and disassembled and it’s half the size of a normal purifier.

Our opinion

The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ auto is one of the best air purifiers that comes mid-size. With easy portability and efficient air purification. The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ Auto is worth its price. It is intended for usage in large areas and is most likely best suited for your living room. It can also eliminate fairly strong odors even if the unit is in the next room.

It works effectively, and despite the fact that it does not employ a full HEPA filter, it still removes around 96% of airborne irritants. The only thing that may irritate some users is the fact that the purifier needs space from all sides as it has a 360-degree intake.
